Current Area: Southern Gateway Community Christ Baptist Church’s (CBC)
Goals for church’s planting: To plant our first church in our local geographical area. Involve CBC congregation in this church planting endeavour.
To accomplish our goals: We have identified the Southern Gateway community, situated west of our city, Polokwane, as the suitable location for a church plant. CBC already owns an 8-hector plot of land adjacent to this community (affectionately known as the Mission Farm).
In September 2022, CBC held her annual church camp at the Mission Farm, explicitly focusing on missions and evangelism. The camp culminated with our church members going out and doing door-to-door evangelism in the area. This was well received, and church members were able to experience the joys of serving the Lord in this manner.
The outreach in the area continues, with teams of church members going into this area every Saturday, where we spend time in evangelism and then in Bible Study – we are grateful to a family in Southern Gateway who host the Bible Study. Several Southern Gateway community members have visited CBC over the past few months. We have identified a Christ Seminary graduate who will serve as an intern at Christ Baptist Church with the goal of sending him into this area as a church planter, please join us in praying for Simon Ramaroka.
